An optic can show a detailed thermal image and still be running the wrong saved profile. Our 9 October field video with the Nocpix ACE2 H50R shares a lesson from exactly that situation.
After moving the scope between rifles, the wrong profile was selected and two shots were missed. In the video, we explain what happened, check the target and return to the thermal footage four hours later.
The practical takeaway
For us, this session reinforced the value of checking the selected profile against the equipment actually in use. A familiar screen or a good-looking image is not a substitute for confirming the setup.
It is also why we share the lessons alongside the successful field footage. Everyday handling, settings and preparation are part of an optic’s usefulness once it leaves the showroom.
